Why I’m a Therapist

Through my own mental health journey, I experienced firsthand how transformative therapy can be and how having a supportive, nonjudgmental space helped me understand myself better, develop healthier coping strategies, and feel less alone in difficult moments. Throughout my life, I also watched people I care about navigate their own mental health challenges, and I knew I wanted to be someone who is there to help people through difficult times in their lives. Beyond these personal experiences, I’ve always had a genuine interest in psychology and in understanding how and why people think, feel, and behave the way they do. Becoming a therapist allows me to combine that curiosity with my passion for helping others make sense of their lives, find meaning in their experiences, and move toward greater well-being.

I’m a life long resident of Panama City and I did all of my schooling here. I graduated from Bay High School, earned my Associate’s degree from Gulf Coast State College, my Bacehlor’s in Psychology from Florida State University Panama City campus, and my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Troy University’s Panama City campus. This town always has been and I hope always will be home for me, and I wanted to become a therapist to pour back into the city that’s poured into me.
